Proxy Music explores how musicians and performers throughout the ages have employed the language of art and design to present and represent, package and market their music. Surveyed here are record sleeves, videos, merchandise, on and off-stage wardrobes, press and advertising materials, and other such visual artifacts—as well as their creators—that when put together, come to shape and define a public image.
Min runs this. She founded and edited pop culture magazine ZIGGY from 2012 to 2015, and was a 2017 Pulitzer Fellowship recipient. She has lately written for Surface, Bandsintown, and Glitch, though hardly ever in the third person.
